CONCENTRA ACQUIRES INDUSTRIAL SOLUTIONS GROUP, INC.
Expanding Concentra’s Service Offering with Industrial Hygiene Expertise
(ADDISON, TX) February 13, 2007 – Concentra Health Services, Inc. (“Concentra”), the nation’s largest provider of occupational health care services, announced today it has acquired Industrial Solutions Group, Inc. (ISG), one of the country’s leading occupational and environmental health services companies.
Fort Wayne, Indiana, based ISG is best known for providing businesses with industrial hygiene services to identify and control hazardous materials in the workplace. Concentra’s management believes ISG’s focus on preventing injuries and illness in the workplace complements Concentra’s mission of making health care more accessible and more affordable.
“ISG is a great addition to our company,” said Mike McCollum, Concentra’s President of Diversified Services. “It expands our already large list of health-related services in the workplace because we can now bring their industrial hygiene expertise to our customers – and ISG has a proven track record of efficiency and effectiveness.”
ISG also provides environmental consulting and analytical services that promote workplace safety, a key factor for companies in reducing their health care costs.
Commenting on the extraordinary combination of service expertise, ISG President and CEO Joe Steensma said, “Joining Concentra represents a monumental opportunity for us. Our focus on occupational injury and illness prevention, combined with Concentra’s focus on workplace health and injury recovery, will result in a broader, more comprehensive offering that delivers improved health and claims outcomes for our clients. It’s an extraordinarily powerful synergy.”
The acquisition also included Cincinnati-based Quantus Analytical, LLC, a leading firm that conducts air quality analyses for the workplace, including testing for mold, pollen, allergens, lead, and asbestos.
